Top EHS Anime

Ross Larios, Staff Writer

(Disclaimer) This was only a small portion of Edison student that participated in this or had anime to list.

I went around asking EHS students what their top 3 anime shows were to recommend.
To start things off,  let’s get some honorable mentions listed, and then we will reveal the three with the most votes.

Honorable Mentions

“Neon Genesis Evangelion”
“Neon Genesis” is primarily about a boy named Shinji who rides inside of a sentient machine in battles to save the world with the help of others.

“Naruto”
As mentioned in the title, the show revolves around a boy named Naruto who grew up with a monster inside of him making him known as a jinchuriki. He is highly detested and looked down upon. However as lonely as he may be, he looks forward to proving everyone wrong by becoming the Hokage, the leader of the Village hidden in the leaf.

THE TOP THREE ANIME COUNTDOWN

At number three we have:
“One Piece”
“One Piece” is a very long series but worth the watch. The main character’s name is Monkey D. Luffy. He is a young pirate who at a young age ate a devil fruit which grants the eater a unique, special power but in return, it doesn’t allow the eater to swim at sea. Luffy’s power is the Gum Gum fruit power which enables him to stretch his body like a rubber man. He starts his journey by going out at sea recruiting members to his crew and making many enemies and foes, especially with the world government. Definitely, an anime to watch for those interested in long stories and adventures.

At number two we have:
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba”
The story for “Demon Slayer” (as it is commonly called) starts off a bit gruesome but really catches your attention and makes you want to watch more. The main character’s name is Tanjiro Kamado a young boy whose entire family except for one sibling Nezuko was murdered by a Demon. In order to get vengeance and prevent anyone else from experiencing what he’s gone through, he trains in order to join the Demon Slayer Corps. A secret organization dedicated to eradicating demons from causing harm. Definitely worth the watch as the premise of the plot is simple yet effective and the animation and sound to the voice acting are very top-notch and worthwhile watching.

And finally at number one,
“Attack On Titan”
“Attack on Titan” is a very dark, engaging, political thriller that has many surprises and jaw-breaking moments. From the very get-go, everything goes haywire. The main character’s name is Eren Yeager whose entire life goes downhill when his mother is eaten alive in front of his very eyes and has to go through years of training and multiple sacrifices to achieve the freedom he so desires very much. Of course, the entire show is amazing with the world-building and character development all the characters go through. There’s a reason this anime in general is one of the biggest named anime in the industry and favored by all who have seen it. So this is for sure a must-watch.
