1. March 4th – Trump claims Pres. Obama wiretapped him

Twitter.com @realdonaldtrump (All)

Early on a Saturday morning, Trump tweeted that he had recently been informed that President Obama had wiretapped his home inNew York City. After months of spin and deflections to the Obama administration, the claim has not yet been proven unequivocally. Such a serious allegation against a fellow President is unprecedented in the modern era.

2. Trump fired FBI Director Jim Comey

Easily the most appalling out of many options, Trump fired FBI Director Jim Comey in a shock move in early May. Several different reasons were cited for Trump’s decision, the most linear through-line appears to be Trump’s fear of continued

investigation into the campaign’s ties with Russia.

3. Voter Fraud

Perhaps the most prime example of disinformation from Trump, the then-President-elect Trump matter of factly proclaimed that at least 3 million people (every single one of which voted against him) took part in a massive scheme to rob Trump of the popular vote, but not the presidency.

4. What is Cofefe? Though a bit more light-hearted than other tweets, Trump’s now infamous “covfefe” tweet proved to be another example of how unfiltered and fragile the presidential tweets can be.

5. The Peoples’ Voice

My favorite candid from the past year, of a Boston protestor playing “This Land is Your Land” during a demonstration contesting Muslim travel ban at an airport in early 2017. To me, this

picture is a reminder that the United States is still the greatest country on Earth, and the title of citizen can be the most important of them all if used to its full potential. Don’t judge us by our dumbest tweet.
