Many people know about the musicals that the Edison does every year, well this year it turns out to be The Lion King Jr. Auditions took place between December 12-13 and call backs were on December 14. Shows will start for the public on March 21st and will continue until March 24th. All the shows except for the 24th will be at 7pm, on the 24th it will be at 2pm. The rehearsal days last from 3:45 to 5:30pm, so they run after school. In this year’s musical they ended up having auditions for kids from  Computech to play as some of the characters.

I talked to some of the people working on the set of this play and asked some questions. Apparently not everyone is happy to be working with the the computech kids. Some people think that the computech kids are gonna be immature and so they are worried about it. Others believe that obviously they are in the play, they know what they are doing and if not then they are learning just like everyone else. It seems like it is going smooth though. Someone I talked to had said that because they are new to this kinda stuff, memorizing lyrics and lines, as well as the dancing is kinda hard to do. They are getting the hang of it, as is everyone else but it really isn’t all that bad.

Apparently though even with the computech kids people are still working well together and working well. They made it up to the number “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King”. That song is in scene 5 of the play, and there is supposed to be 13 scenes so they still got a ways to go. Still having said that, everyone is working hard and trying to get stuff done. I for one am excited to see what the outcome of this play is. I wish them good luck and hope all goes smooth.
