November 22, 2019
Candidates continue dropping out of the presidential election as the race progresses. So far, ten candidates have dropped out of the race for several reasons. Several of the candidates decided to drop out because they didn’t pass the requirements to continue running in the race.
Beto O’Rourke, a very well-known candidate, called it quits after his numbers in the polls were consistently dropping. He also wasn’t receiving enough money to keep his campaign going. He was experiencing some financial strain.
Rep. Tim Ryan, an Ohio politician, ended his campaign six months after it began because he never broke out of the bottom tier of candidates.
Bill de Blasio, New York City’s mayor, said he was dropping out of the race after he failed to leap from the lower tier of the presidential race.
Kristen Gillibrand, US senator, has dropped out of the race after 8 months of announcing her plans to run for president. She was failing to meet the DNC’s donor and polling requirements.
Rep. Seth Moulton announced that after 4 months of campaigning, he was going to end his race. He believes it’s a three-way race between Biden, Warren, & Sanders.
Gov. Jay Inslee dropped out the campaign because it didn’t seem like he would qualify for the scheduled democratic event.
Gov. John Hickenlooper ran for president because he believes the country is being ripped apart by politics and he wishes to change that. His campaign didn’t play out how he and his team hoped it would.
Sen. Mike Gravel didn’t qualify for the first debate and he missed the polling mark for the second debate. All he wanted to do was push the filed to the left.
Rep. Eric Swalwell decided to drop out of the race after he realized that his polling and fundraising numbers fell short.
Richard Ojeda has dropped out of the presidential race in late January after losing his congressional candid. He knew that his campaign wouldn’t have the ability to get him the win.
Most of the candidates decided to drop out of the race because they either didn’t have enough funds to continue in the race or they didn’t meet the polling requirements. Even though some have dropped out, there are still a lot of candidates in the race for presidency.
