Gifts for your girlfriend?

From A Girl’s Perspective

Nicole Wong, Staff Writer

Valentines is a yearly holiday and you are probably struggling to find the best and most unique gift for your girlfriend at this time. You don’t want to be basic to just give her flowers and chocolates, but that’s all you see at the stores. You want the gift to be thoughtful and meaningful. Surely, you can and should still get her flowers and chocolates. But. Don’t give the basic ones. Don’t get her flowers you see at the grocery stores, and don’t buy her Ferrero Rocher or those basic heart boxes with chocolates(the ones you will get your friends in elementary schools, that are all over the stores). Don’t give her basic red roses, despite the meaning and look is romantic, but it’s found everywhere already (unless her favorite flowers are really red roses).

First, understand your girlfriend, what she likes, what she’s interested in, or things related to her. If you are unsure with that or if you think she already has all those things, then ask yourself. What are things that reminds you of her? The main point is, is show your effor, your love and how much you care for her based on the thought you have on the gifts.

Perhaps she briefly mentioned a childhood favorite candy she had, or maybe a childhood movie/show she was obsessed with. These little things may seem like nothing, but really, the details are what matters. Here are some personal favorite ideas from me, but it’s also biased–based on my own liking, so just purely take them as a click for your lightbulb.

  • Ruby necklace(looks more classy and bold, also red, romantic)
  • Build a bear, with a cute recording of what you want her to hear
  • Crystals (if she likes those)
  • Her favorite snacks, candies, drinks
  • If you know her fashion style, buy her clothes, shoes, jewelry, accessories
  • Glass rose–like the one from Beauty and the Beast
  • An activity you both can do together (example: a customized puzzle)
  • Make her something: cookies, chocolate-covered strawberries, strawberry jam cookies
  • Make it fun, do a scavenger hunt for her
  • Something that helps her hobbies(example: film camera/polariod if she like photography)
  • Perfume
  • Candles
  • Matching sets–comfy clothes
  • Couples sets(clothes), necklaces, bracelets, key chains
  • Purses, handbags
  • Moon lamps, unique led/fairy lights
  • Makeup, skincare
  • Photo album box
  • Playlist glass keychain
  • Books
