The Get-Away Playlist

At number one on the list

Nirvana – Lithium (Official Music Video)

The song was originally made in 1990 but was re-recorded the following year and was featured on the hit album Nevermind which is a Diamond album certified by RIAA. Nirvana with frontman Kurt Cobain, drummer Dave Grohl, and bassist Krist Novoselic compose a work of art that explores a man who turned religious while having suicidal thoughts. In today’s age teenagers, and adults for that matter, tend to find themselves very anxious, stressed, and depressed. Well with a song like this, why not scream your lungs out and enjoy the bass,  the drums, and the beautiful voice of Kurt and really let your emotions out.

Coming in at number two

Soundgarden – Black Hole Sun (Official Music Video)

The song was released in the year 1994 by Soundgarden on the album Superunknown with Chris Cornell as lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Kim Thayil as lead guitarist, Ben Shepard as bassist, and Matt Cameron as the drummer. The hit song went on to become a hit record, becoming one of their best-selling songs to date. Black Hole Sun has no real meaning behind the lyrics but the picture it gives you just lays bare emotion to feel free and paint an imaginative self-picture of what can be forgotten. A real swell rhythm to the ear and creatively composed song.

The third song

blink-182 – Dammit (Official Video)

The song came out in 1997 on the album Dude Ranch by Matt DeLonge as guitarist and vocalist, Mark Hopus as bassist and vocalist and Scott Raynor as drummer. The lead single off the album is about maturity and going through break-up which most teens experience throughout their high school days. So, it’s normal to just want to jam out and try getting over a relationship so why not do so with Dammit.

At number four

Lil Peep — 16 Lines (Official Video)

16 lines were originally leaked, but later it was officially released on the late emo/punk rapper’s posthumous album Come Over When You’re Sober pt.2. The song expresses the desire of being helped by the usage of drugs to escape from reality. Lil Peep really had a unique voice and production which elevated his music, and this song really helps you sing your emotions out.

And the final song

Lil Uzi Vert – XO Tour Llif3 (Official Music Video)

Lil Uzi Vert’s hit song “XO Tour Llif3” went number 7 on Billboard and helped many feel the same emotion expressed in this song. The lyrics depict his relationship problems, substance abuse, and mental health. This really got to many others and even helped me at times, so if you ever need a melodic song to let your emotions out and have a good time just play this song and this whole list for that matter.
