104 degrees sun beams down on athletes from schools across Fresno. Runners from across the valley stretch to loosen their legs until everyone hears a man shout “Are all runners ready?”. A cheer goes up from the teams before hearing the gunshot and starting their races.

Edison starts this season coming off a City Championships title last season with Ben Borchers and Gaby Chielpegian taking home the men’s and women’s titles. This season is kicking off with an invitational meet in Kingsburg on Saturday, September 10th.

The events offer the chance for students to win scholarship offers from colleges across the country. Edison’s runners will be looking to put themselves in the spotlight on Saturday and make a name for themselves before the next race.
