Starting off this season with a new head coach and a whole new goal, our Edison girls’ volleyball team is ready to start out strong. The team has faced challenges in the past and are planning to leave them in the past to try and push for a better record this year.
The girls’ team is already off to a great start with a total of 10 wins in preseason, according to their assistant coach. This includes preseason scrimmages, games, and tournaments. Edison’s team is looking to keep the momentum going in this game against Bullard.
Since preseason is now over, the team is ready for their league to start. To kick off their league season, our girls’ volleyball team will be playing against Bullard High School in the east gym on Tuesday, September 18th.
This game is one of those games that the players and coaches hold with much importance considering the history between Bullard and Edison sports teams. There has been an ongoing Edison-Bullard rivalry that has been present for many years. Most sports teams from both schools make it their mission to play their best to see who comes out on top when competing against each other.
These rivalry games are always entertaining and intense to watch. There is always the question of “Who will do better?” and “Who will win?” There will also be a snack bar open to all those who attend the game so you can have something to snack on while cheering on our team.
The snack bar is run by one of the players’ parents, Ms. Mejia, and will include many different snacks, drinks, and hot foods to choose from. There will be chips, candy, water, Gatorade, soda, and nachos sold for $2, as well as asada nachos for $10 and asada and chicken tacos for $2.50 each. Get something to eat while you watch the team compete.
