When talking about superheroes we think of the most popular ones like Spiderman, Iron Man, & Captain America but do we ever think why they’re so popular? They’re so popular because all these superheroes are made by Marvel. Unlike DC’s most popular superheroes like Superman, Batman, & Wonder Woman they have less attraction of popularity because of the separation their storylines. Meaning Marvel is intertwined within these storylines because of the MCU. DC doesn’t have a connected universe which creates pathways of multiple storylines that can get confusing for the audience and which Marvel is all connected with multiple storylines intertwined together unlike DC.
Going back to the comic era of these franchises Marvel always had a knack for creating characters that have an overall end to them. Meaning by Marvel creating all these characters, they have an idea on how and when to create them. Also, that is what Stan Lee did so well. He knew how to make them all connect into creating a storyline that lasted and still is lasting for decades. Unlike DC’s main writer for their comics Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson he created DC comics for entertainment that doesn’t last for decades but only for one storyline. Marvel created these sources of entertainment that will last forever with connection throughout their stories.
When also talking about cinematics I think Marvel is better because it’s more realistic because of the transparency between ages such as being an adult and a teenager that tells a more compelling story. Also, comic lore because of work they put into directing the stories without leading the audience to question unlike DC. I think both are great franchises but when it comes to storytelling Marvel out beats DC by a milestone. This is one of the many reasons why Marvel is better than DC.
