Missy Elliott is a popular singer, songwriter, rapper, and producer. Starting out her career in the 1990s with the R&B group “Sista”, Missy Elliott made her mark in the hip-hop music industry as a well-known female rapper.
Albeit her growing success, Missy Elliott took a break from music in 2005 after the release of her album “The Cookbook”. She wouldn’t release another album until 10 years later in 2015. This gap in her music career was due to being overworked and problems with her health.
In 2011, Missy Elliott told The Gurdian in an interview about the condition she was diagnosed with. She stated how she was diagnosed with Graves’ disease in 2008, which affected her motor skills. She talked about how it was very difficult for her to function in her everyday life, so she needed a break from music to focus more on her health. After 2015, Missy Elliott has gotten back into songwriting and singing, stating that she has learned to manage her condition.
With her return to the music industry, Missy Elliot is planning a headlining tour for her fans. The tour will also include appearances by Ciara, Busta Rhymes, and Timbaland, who are all singers and rappers.
The tour is called “Out of This World – The Missy Elliott Experience”, and it is scheduled to take place from July 4 through August 22 with concerts located all around the U.S. and Canada. The prices for tickets range from $90 to over $1,000 for VIP, depending on the city.
