Edison students, homecoming is right around the corner, and although things are a little up in the air when it comes to the dance, you can assuredly be ready for skits which we’ll cover after they happen, some exciting dress-up days, and of course, homecoming royalty! 

Things with the homecoming dance have been a little rocky, but as of now, you can pick up tickets at lunch until the seventh and after school until the tenth for $25. If the dance is a success, we hope to see you there in semi-formal dress, ready for food trucks. 

This year, we’re looking at some great dress-up days. On Monday the 7th, students will be dressing up as surfers or bikers (or wearing blue), a spirit day inspired by the Disney Channel musical, Teen Beach movie! Tuesday the 8th is for all the music lovers out there, come to school in your favorite band shirt or something yellow! On Wednesday the 9th, come dressed in a villain shirt or wear some black clothing for VK day. Another spirit day inspired by a Disney Channel musical. This time, it’s Descendants. On Thursday the 10th come dressed in your Pajamas. I know we’re all looking forward to this one! And finally, on Friday the 11th, come dressed in your spirit wear and bring a stuffed companion for the big homecoming game! 

If you signed up to become homecoming royalty, there are a few things you’ll have to do to get into the running. You’ll want to have attended the meeting on October 4th at lunch and more importantly, you’ll want to show your spirit. That means you must dress up for those spirit days and play a part in your grade’s skit if you want a chance at becoming royalty. If you didn’t sign up for royalty, we encourage you to vote for a nominee through 5Star on October 9th!
