After a year of online learning, students grew to appreciate the feeling of in-person school, but of course, not all aspects were missed. A number of people around campus were questioned about how they felt being back on school grounds. The one thing the student body agreed on was that the best thing about being back on campus is the ability to socialize with friends again. 

Whether it was new friends or old friends people were happy to have a face-to-face reunion. Now a reunion that was not so welcome was the one between kids’ backs and the weight of their textbooks. Elvis Pacheco stated, “I’m tired of walking between classes every day”. Students are also still getting used to the bell schedule with classes being an hour-long each period. A junior Willow Batten said, “It’s easier to pay attention in class without my phone”. Which I’m sure everyone can relate to seeing as at some point we were all guilty of abusing the fact that our screen cameras were off. There were some split answers regarding homework across grade levels though. The freshman and sophomores said it was too early to tell if the load was going to be more difficult or not to handle compared to online schooling. However, the junior and senior crowd had more than enough homework to fill their free time with. Student Jude Hammouda did say “I like paper homework better”. This carried over to the fact that visual learners seem to thrive more with direct contact learning. There was some debate on whether the in-person school was easier or harder to succeed in compared to online. On one hand, the transportation time now takes away from time that could be spent on homework. Whereas communication with teachers is more direct with in-person school. Tamara Franco says “Well there’s no tech problems now” which is better for classroom help. For the most part, it was agreed upon that people prefer to attend school in person than through a computer screen.
