The Fresno Asia Super Market

The Fresno Asia Super Market is one of the many Asian markets located in Fresno which can be found on 4818 E Tulare Ave. The Market does not provide a website where information regarding foods, utensils, or other items are not provided. The only information you will find is based on Yelp! reviews. However, I have recently gone down to see what the market is like and get a grasp of the overall environment.

The experience is like none other compared to regular food markets such as Food Maxx or WinCo. The variety of foods is like none other, vegetables I’ve never seen before, broths I’ve never seen before, dishes I’ve never seen before, and much more. I was lucky to snag some interviews with some of the very polite and kind employees about the market. I wanted to understand what the main attractions regarding proteins and veggies/fruits were.

Shrimp” andZaub Ntsuab” were the responses and to be frank with you I didn’t know what zaub ntsuab was until I looked it up; it is leafy greens (commonly called mustard greens in the US) added as a vegetable to pork broths and other Hmong dishes.

Utensils and plates were also available, so I was curious whether people bought them. “Mainly the utensils.” And ideally, I wanted an understanding of what age group came in and to no surprise, it is “middle-aged people like people in their mid-thirties.”

Overall, the experience was great, from all the new foods I’ve never seen to the nice hospitality of the employees to all the other peculiar items they had. And throughout the entire week they are open every day from 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
