As the years go by, we tend to be more on our phones, scrolling endlessly on social media. Many of us have forgotten the magic of books but with the rise of ‘BookTok’, the combination of books and social media platform, TikTok, we are reminded of so many stories yet to be read.

If you haven’t read in years, you may feel overwhelmed by so many book options. How do you know which books to read that you’ll find enjoyable. Here are some options that may fit your style. 

A Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adam

If you enjoy friends to lovers, this book is for you.  It follows a ballet teacher, Bree, and a star football player, Nathan.  They have been friends for years, but could they be anything more? They’ve both had secret crushes on each other and can’t seem to leave the friend zone.  That is until they make a deal to fake date, which forever changes their relationship.

Teen Titans: Robin by Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo

 This book is the fourth in the Teen Titans Series and has yet to come out. It is expected to be released on March 7 of 2023, so mark your calendars. In the meantime, you can read the other three books in the series.  the book is a graphic novel that follows one out of the five Teen Titans members, robin. It’s a fantasy young adult novel that fans will absolutely love. 

She gets the Girl by Rachel Lipincott and Alyson Derrick

If you want a book that has great LGBTQ+ representation, this book is the right choice! The clashing personalities of Alex Blackwood and Molly Parker is what makes them a great duo. The two girls, slight enemies at first and then ‘friends’ follow a plan that gets them to their own individual goals. Although every step of the plan is followed, the goals for both girls have changed. In the end, feelings are felt, and truths are spoken.

The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave

This book is great for fans of mystery and thrillers. It follows Hannah Michaels as her husband disappears after being under investigation for a crime. He leaves behind his daughter and now Hannah and her step-daughter must uncover the truth and the secrets of the past.

Reading is proven to improve your memory, communication, and empathy skills. It can also help you if you feel stressed. We could all use a break from social media so stop scrolling and start flipping pages!
